Coleen Vogel
Dr. Coleen Vogel is Professor of Sustainability at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and member of the South African Scientific Committee for Global Change. She was the Lead Author of IPCC WG2 Chapter 9 on Africa and member of the team for the Summary for Policy makers WG2. She is an advisor to the government, for various Departments regularly assisting the NDA (National Department of Agriculture) on matters related to climate, forecast use, drought management, Early Warning and desertification. She provides inputs and continues to assist The New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) on Disaster Management through their environmental unit.
Current Research Projects Include Southern African Vulnerability Initiative, Potential Impacts of Climate Change and Mitigation Strategies of Water Resources in Southern Africa, Development of an Integrated research Programme on Vulnerability to Global Environmental Change, together with Karen O'Brien. |
