José M. Moreno
Dr. José M. Moreno was born in Espinoso del Rey (prov. Toledo, Spain) in 1952. He graduated in Biology at Complutense University of Madrid in 1976. Following postgraduate studies at the University of Göttingen (DE), he obtained a PhD degree in Vegetation Ecology 1983 at Complutense University of Madrid. After postdoctoral studies at San Diego State University, he became Associate (tenured) Professor of Ecology in 1988. In 1998 he became Professor of Ecology at University of Castilla-La Mancha in Toledo, Spain, where he continues.
His research interests are focused on forest fires in Mediterranean environments, with a broad range of interest, from plant ecophysiology to landscape ecology, including the relationship of forest fires with climate and climate change as well as to other global change drivers. He is married and has two daughters. |
