Tom Mitchell
Dr. Tom Mitchell is a Research Fellow in the Climate Change and Development Centre at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), having previously been a member of the Benfield University College London Hazard Research Centre. With a PhD in Geography, he specialises in climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction. Much of Tom's work focuses on the development and poverty dimensions of climate change and disasters through his ongoing projects in the Philippines, El Salvador, Indonesia and East Africa.
Tom co-ordinates the IDS hosted programmes on 'Children in a Changing Climate' and 'Climate and Disaster Governance' and manages a UK-based network of research organisations examining the links between climate change adaptation and chronic poverty. |
