Jose Antonio Marengo Orsini
Dr. Jose A. Marengo holds bachelors degrees in physics and meteorology from the Universidad Nacional Agraria in Lima, Peru (1981), a master's degree in engineering of water and land resources from the Universidad Nacional Agraria (1987) and a Ph.D. in Meteorology from the University of Wisconsin - Madison (1991). Dr. Marengo did his post-doctoral work at NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, Columbia University and Florida State University. He is currently a senior scientist at the Brasilian National Institute for Space Research (INPE), where he is coordinator of the Group of Studies and Research on Climate Change and head of the natural science division in the new Earth System Science Center (CCST) at INPE. He is also a professor in INPE's graduate program and is a member of several international panels: IPCC, VAMOS-CLIVAR, GWSP, and is a member of several working groups on climate change in Brazil and abroad. |
